Luis Somoza

Luis brings over 25 years of mortgage origination experience in residential and commercial lending, both in retail and wholesale TPO capacities. A self-described process nerd who is highly analytical, he thrives on structuring complex deals and was the driving force behind the development of Deephaven Mortgage’s 1099 only mortgage program in 2019, which represents approximately 10 percent of national Non QM originations. Passionate about meeting and exceeding his clients’ needs, he prides himself on connecting with clients and level setting expectations.

Having lived in seven countries, he is fluent in French and Spanish and lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his two daughters and his dog, Maddie. When he is not in the office, he can be found riding a motorcycle, hiking, cooking, crafting cocktails at home, and rooting for his beloved NY Giants.
